KINGSLEY’s premiere capsule collection, after a hiatus in which creative director Lisa Kingsley began making conceptual drawings & paintings, offers an artful approach. Here, three mixed-media works – Bag of Jokes, A Light Bag of Richness, & Bag of Jokes with Winter Tulip - are transcribed onto minimalist canvas bag shapes in the style of Rorschach blot tests, reflecting Kingsley’s pensive, ironic twist on the idea of carrying things around. Acrylic paint, oil pastel, graphite pencil, & marker in hues of chartreuse, khaki, mustard, & charcoal coalesce gracefully. This soulful grouping includes soft t-shirts & fleece sweatshirts featuring Kingsley’s air-brushed Winter Tulip, original artworks, & essential paper goods.
